Jamestown Deeds - 1881

On February 14th, 1881, several deeds recorded in 1876 were updated with lot labels following the recording of the first official plat mapping of Jamestown. These 1881 deeds were signed, sealed, and delivered to the County in the presence of Myron Eells. The documents were then certified by Thomas Abernathy, Clallam County Auditor, on the same day and officially recorded in the Clallam County Deeds 1873-1881, Volume D, on February 17th, 1881. The physical documents can be viewed at the Washington State Archives, Northwest Regional Branch in Bellingham, WA.

The Jamestown S'Klallam Tribal Archives and Collections Facility has the physical copy of the original 1881 Quit Claim Deed transferring Lot H of Jamestown from Lord James Balch and See-ahm-its-ah to Tenas John.
