Jamestown Deeds - 1874



 

This is the original deed transferring land ownership of 210 acres of what is now known as Jamestown from Richard and Jane Delanty to Lord Jim Balch. This deed was formally executed by the above-mentioned parties on June 4th, 1874, and officially witnessed by B.G. Hotchkiss, Justice of the Peace for Clallam County. The deed was recorded and certified by William King and Thomas Abernathy, the Clallam County Auditor and Deputy Auditor respectively on
June 8th, 1874, in the Clallam County Deeds 1871-1873, Volume C, pages 264-265. The document was later certified by B. John Baker. The physical copy is held at the Washington State Archives, Northwest Regional Branch in Bellingham, WA.
